Different Types of Online Certificate Programs
There are too many certification programs that are offered as follows:
Security Management and Homeland Security
With the increasing threat of terrorists after the September 11th attacks, there is a huge need for security personnel in many fields. Corporations are increasing their security to provide a safe working environment for their employees and customers. UMassOnline offers certification in Security Management for people currently working in the public safety field and for those who wish to become security personnel.
In order to enter this program, the student needs to have good basic skills with the computer, a good Internet connection, and an e-mail account. The time it takes to complete the program will vary depending on how many classes you take each quarter. There are six required courses in the program, two of which are electives.

Certificate in Food Service Management
This is another certificate offered by UMassOnline. Here you will learn how to work in the food service area, including restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, and more. In order to graduate with this certificate, students must complete three courses, which are offered June through December. Those who are currently working in the tourism or hospitality industry are eligible to apply for this program, and it is a great continuing education opportunity!
International Tourism Management Certificate
The Arizona Universities Network offers a certificate in tourism management, which is designed for those who work in the tourist industry, such as marketers, developers, planners, and more. These are fully accredited online courses. In order to apply for this course, the student must have been accepted as an undergraduate at Northern Arizona University.
At the Arizona Universities Network, a tuition credit costs just over $500. This is a great continuing education certificate for those who already work in the growing tourism industry.
Parks and Recreation Management Certificate
Another degree offered by the Arizona Universities Network, the parks and recreation certificate, is open to individuals currently in the field and to those seeking to gain an educational foundation to enter the profession. Students must be accepted as undergraduates at Northern Arizona University and can expect to pay around $500 in tuition.
